The Dog Days of Summer: Garden Dogs Photo Contest 2026

[Emma Nystedt]

We asked to see your garden dogs and over 100 of you sent in your best pups (and two cats!). A crack team of 14 Sloat Garden Center dog lovers spent way too long looking through every photo, and picking just three winners was nearly impossible. It was so hard, in fact, that we decided to award $25 gift cards to a handful of honorable mentions too. Scroll down to meet our winners, plus a few more of our favorites that we couldn’t leave out.

Thank you to everyone who entered, we loved getting to see your pets out enjoying the garden!

“Poms in bloom! Maddie and toasty are Pomeranians who love gardening. They enjoy riding along in the shopping cart.” -Ivy

“Copper is my gardening buddy. But he is more than that…. He is my branch mulcher, gopher alarm, berry taster, and active red shedded fur contributor to the local bird nest builder association.” -Carol

“Beignet is a feisty little pup that gives lots of loving! She was rescued two years ago and has been since living her best life. She loves car rides, tennis balls and sniffing in the plant stores.” -Jennifer
